HONORARY SEXTON SOCIETY
of
HISTORIC GULF CEMETERY
The Board of Directors founded the Honorary Sexton Society on April 5, 2018 to recognize individuals who have provided exemplary service to the cemetery.
A sexton is an officer of a church, congregation, or synagogue charged with the maintenance of its buildings and/or the surrounding graveyard.
The first individual to receive this honor was Charles Moll on May 28, 2018 in grateful recognition for years of voluntary service & dedication to the cemetery grounds.
The second person to receive this honor was Cheryl Freeze on May 30, 2022 in grateful recognition of her tireless ‘behind the scenes’ voluntary service and dedication to the cemetery.
