Memorial Day 2024 at Gulf Cemetery

Historic Gulf Cemetery hosted its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27th. The 109-year-old cemetery is located at 1466 S County Highway 393 in Santa Rosa Beach. Approximately 160 veterans are interred in the cemetery and were honored in the service.

After the ceremony, the crowd replaced all of the old flags at each of the veteran’s headstones with new ones. Guests were also invited to go across the road to the Chapel at Crosspoint where the ‘Some Gave All’ memorial was set up. The traveling memorial pays tribute to those who have fallen, from the Gulf War to present day. It also lists the names of each American that was tragically killed on 9/11.

The historic Gulf Cemetery is open to the public from dusk to dawn.
